Massive congratulations to George Gillam, who has just passed his driving test on his FIRST ATTEMPT, 20th March 2023, with only 4 driving faults. What makes this even more impressive is that he was only 17 on 25th February, so it’s taken him less than a month! I can’t tell you how impressive that is George. Well done!
You’ve beaten my own personal record with your achievement today. I passed on my test 1st attempt in 1985, six weeks after my 17th birthday! (and there was no such thing as a theory test back then either).
You did so well to spend a big chunk of your birthday weekend, doing intensive driving lessons, and working on your theory, as I needed you to pass it as soon as possible, if we were to have any chance of getting a practical driving test booked before my manual car goes this week – but I always knew that if anyone could do it, it was you!
Thank-you for inviting me to sit in on your test, it was a lovely drive, and I was enjoying listening to the background music you’d chosen. You can’t go wrong with the Beatles. Even your favourite track “Hey Jude” came on during your emergency stop! Thank God I had my seatbelt on for that!
It was lovely to see how happy you were as I dropped you back at school…especially as you’d had to miss a maths test as it clashed with your driving test!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single lesson with both yourself and your brother Ollie. Having known you and your family for many years, I’m absolutely over the moon that you got the result you very much deserved.
